Mopo is a collective of three talented musicians from Finland. The energetic band saw the daylight in the fall of 2009 as a result of a bar fight. Mopo (a moped) accelerates easily from zero to speed of light, but mostly the trio steps on the gas for a hilarious joyride in the countryside. The band draws their inspiration from jazz, 70s punk and the Finnish nature, each composition is born in the magic of the moment.Mopo has released two albums, “Jee!” (2012) and “Beibe” (2014), both on Finnish Texicalli Records. “Beibe” won the Finnish grammy (Emma) in best jazz album category this year and is going to international distribution by Edition Records in the UK. The band is currently working on their third album which is planned to be released in 2017.Mopo’s intense performances have stolen the hearts of their audiences all over Europe. In 2015 alone Mopo has toured in the UK, Sweden, Slovenia, Marocco, Norway and Turkey.
