Pasquale Grasso’s (b. 1988) stunning virtuosity can be heard in his guitar playing, which is influenced by his pianist idol, Bud Powell. Drawing from the jazz tradition, the Italian Grasso has won several music awards, the most recent being first place in the 2015 Wes Montgomery International Jazz Guitar Competition in New York. In the same year, Grasso released his debut album “Reflections of Me”.

DIG. Festival is the main autumn event of the University of the Arts Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy and its jazz department. This autumn, the stage will be taken by pianist Aaron Goldberg, singer-guitarist Joyce Moreno, guitarist Pasquale Grasso, and saxophonist Fredrik Kronkvist. During their visit, the festival stars will teach students in the Sibelius Academy’s jazz department.

Pasquale Grasson (s. 1988) virtuositeetti tulee esiin häikäisevällä tavalla hänen soolokitarasoitossaan, jossa on kuultavissa vaikutteita hänen pianistiesikuvaltaan Bud Powellilta. Jazzmusiikin perinteestä ammentava italialainen Grasso on voittanut useita musiikkipalkintoja, joista tuoreimpana ensimmäinen sija Wes Montgomery International Jazz Guitar Competition -kilpailussa New Yorkissa vuonna 2015. Grasso julkaisi samana vuonna debyyttialbuminsa "Reflections of Me".

DIG.-festivaali on Taideyliopiston Sibelius-Akatemian jazzmusiikin aineryhmän jokasyksyinen päätapahtuma. Tänä syksynä lavalla nähdään pianisti Aaron Goldberg, laulaja-kitaristi Joyce Moreno, kitaristi Pasquale Grasso ja saksofonisti Fredrik Kronkvist. Festivaalin tähdet opettavat vierailunsa aikana Sibelius-Akatemian jazzmusiikin opiskelijoita.
